Featured this week is the NOSTIME Box calf Strap collection. I mainly envisioned these to be fun straps that you can’t go wrong with. However, at the same time, some of these straps really hit it home with their pairing to certain watches. More specifically, these go well with watches that will be able to accept the straps’ changes in color and character as they age. Who said that NOSTIME wasn’t about beauty through aging?

Not every strap out there can be aged into elegant colors- it depends on the quality of the leather and craftsmanship. Because I wanted the Box Calf to respond well to aging, it was quite the challenge to find the right tannery. I sought to find a tannery that could provide the characteristic soft, supple feeling of the young calf leather while keeping the leather tough and ready for heavy wear.

My research led me to the traditional Italian tanneries at Tuscany, who are renowned for providing high quality vegetable-tanned leather known as Vacchetta. I partnered up with Badalassi Carlo because they were able to provide their own exclusive colors through their special tanning process. 

With that, the stage is now set for a beautiful, mellow aging process. As you continue to strap on our products, it is my hope that you will continue to enjoy the unique aging process.
